Dating App Scam: Man Tricked to Pay ₹22,000 Restaurant Bill
A man shared his experience on X, recounting how he was scammed after matching with a girl on Bumble and meeting her at Gypsy Restro Bar Bhugaon, Pune. During their first meeting, the girl ordered wine and hookah. Unaware of the prices, he was surprised to find out later that the hookah cost ₹10,000, a wine bottle ₹15,000, and a wine glass ₹1,500, totaling ₹22,000 on the bill. She insisted he pay the bill, threatening to damage his car and collect double the amount if he refused. After the date, he realized he had been scammed when the girl's Bumble profile disappeared and she ignored his calls.
